Redemption Hill is excited to celebrate our 15th Anniversary this August!
Throughout the summer, Community Groups across the city are hosting events in their neighborhoods during our Summer Celebration Series to give others the opportunity to gather and meet others from RHC.
Throughout August we will have a special sermon series focused on the good work has done over these 15 years. We are honored to have Carlton Harris, EFCA President, and Bill Kynes, retired Senior Pastor of our sending church, Cornerstone, join us on Sundays for that series.
Summer Celebration Series
Trash Pick-Up & Picnic
June 13 | 10 AM | Hill East
Join our East DC CGs on Saturday, June 13 for a morning of serving our neighborhood together followed by a community picnic at the Fields at RFK!
We’ll begin with a neighborhood trash pickup from 10:00–11:00 AM, with organized meeting points throughout the area between 18th & 19th St SE, from Potomac Ave SE up to E St NE. This stretch includes many of our CG members’ homes and is an area that could really use some extra care and cleanup.
After the cleanup, we’ll head to the Lincoln Park for a picnic from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM. We’ll leave a little time between the cleanup and picnic so everyone can grab food before heading over. The picnic will be bring-your-own-lunch but we will provide drinks and dessert!

CG PARK Picnic
June 24 | 6:30 PM | LINCOLN PARK
Join the I St, Navy Yard, & Lincoln Park Communities for a picnic in Lincoln Park! Bring your own dinner, blanket, and drinks. You're welcome to bring lawn games if you have them, too!
We’ll meet at the northwest corner of the park. No RSVP required.
DAY AT THE ZOO
July 18 | 4 PM | Hill East
We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo. How about you, you, you?
Join the Columbia Heights, Kalorama, NoMa, and Mass Ave Communities for a day at the National Zoo.
*If that time doesn't work, you can book your own entry tickets for free here!
We will meet outside the entrance off Connecticut Ave around 9:45 AM and enter together. Admission is free.
Scavenger hunt style (optional) fun-tivities provided. Otherwise everyone can wander the zoo at their own pace!

Join us on Sunday, August 23, 2026 for a special Sunday Gathering recognizing our 15th Anniversary. After the service we will have a special celebration with fun for the whole family.
