In AD 50, the Apostle Paul landed in the bustling port city of Corinth. He spent about 18 months teaching that Jesus is the fulfillment of God's plan, the Gospel. In those months, a church was planted. Two years after Paul left Corinth, the church was in trouble. Divisions and factions had arisen. People were flaunting blatantly sinful lifestyles. Arguments over worship styles, clothing, food, spiritual gifts, and marriage were dividing the church. Members of the church were even suing each other. This is the setting into which Paul wrote a passionate letter to the church he planted - 1 Corinthians.
In this week's passage Pastor Bill preaches on the need for followers of Christ to live out of love, and not out of knowledge alone.
