Redemption Hill Church
In the city, for the city

Copy of Leadership

Bill Riedel, Lead Pastor

What I do at Redemption Hill: My primary focus is vision, preaching, and leadership development. I love to see people thrive as they live out their passions, fueled by the gospel.

A little about me: Alissa and I love DC and our family is deeply rooted here. Our kids have grown up on Capitol Hill. My Chicago roots still come through as a Cubs and Bears fan, but I cheer for the Nats, too. I love to cook and enjoy time with friends over good food and drink.

Bill is the founding and lead pastor of Redemption Hill Church in Washington, DC. He was formally trained at Trinity International University (BA) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv), and has served in ministry since 1998. He serves the Acts 29 Network as the DC Area Director and on the A29 North Atlantic Leadership Team, as well as the board of the Eastern District Association of the EFCA.

Chuy Rodriguez,

Associate Pastor
Community & Church Planting

What I do at Redemption Hill: I have two priorities. The first one is to develop, launch and train Community Groups and its leaders throughout the city. My second focus is to oversee and help our efforts in church planting, locally and globally as well. I also serve as the Acts 29 Coordinator for Mexico.

A little about me: I’m originally from Mexico City and I’m married to Karla who is from the D.C. area. We have four kids, Joel, Luciana, Sofia, and Caleb. I’m a huge soccer fan and a Raiders fan in football. I love reading, listening to music, and good food. I have come to love this beautiful city and the people of our community.

Chuy planted Doxa, Iglesia Cristiana, in his hometown Mexico City. After four years of ministry in Mexico City, he returned to his sending church, RHC. He continues to serve as the Acts 29 Mexico Country Director, investing in church planting in Latin America.

Brian Kruzan, Assistant Pastor
Liturgy & Spiritual Formation

What I do at Redemption Hill: I focus on the worship and liturgical flow of our gatherings. I’m passionate about seeing my brothers and sisters grow in the gospel through music, prayer, and daily rhythms.

A little about me: Tarra and I live in the Capitol Hill neighborhood with our two girls. We have fallen in love with DC and count exploring this city a tremendous privilege. I enjoy cheering on the Cubs, discovering new music, and relearning how to balance on a stand up paddle board each summer.

Jess Mitchell, Director of Operations

What I do at Redemption Hill: I oversee RHC's operations - coordinate volunteers, pay bills, update our database, schedule events, and make sure Sunday services happen smoothly so people can focus on Jesus.

A little about me: I've lived in DC for almost a decade but my native Arizona blood means I'm usually cold. I stay warm by running with our dog Luna, taking pictures, or eating anything topped with a fried egg. I met and married Jordan at RHC and we're excited to grow our family here in DC. Baby Mitchell due February 2019!

It all starts with Jesus. He is the Head of His Church. The rest of us are Christians who love Him and follow Him. We have formal leadership structures that advance Jesus' mission among His people. These include Elders, Deacons, and Members. The senior leadership of Redemption Hill Church is vested in the Elders, men who are both paid and unpaid Pastors and Elders who follow the leading of Jesus who is the Senior Pastor. To be considered as an elder, a man must have been called by God into leadership at Redemption Hill Church and be a man of the highest Christian character according to the qualifications of Scripture. The Elders lead and care for our members and set the vision for RHC.

Titus 2 Team

Throughout its history, the church has recognized that women have particular gifts with which to serve the body of Christ. Redemption Hill Church has formed a team of spiritually mature, godly women. They assist the pastors and elders, particularly in their pastoral care for the women of Redemption Hill Church. This group is called the Titus 2 Team. For more on the Titus 2 Team, watch this Ask Pastor Bill video
