Fully Known & Fully Loved
We are both known and loved by God. God uses His people to be a tangible expression of that in His Church. This weekend we will talk about the spiritual battle that keeps us from doing this well and how we can foster greater intimacy with God and each other. Come and learn how cultivating authentic relationships and being transparent in our struggles gives us the confidence to live purposefully for His kingdom.
This year we are excited to have Carolyn McCulley joining us! Carolyn is an author, speaker, and filmmaker. She has written 3 books and written for a wide range of publications. She is a member of Redeemer Church of Arlington.
6-7pm - Registration & Fellowship
7-9pm - Fully Known & Fully Loved (session 1) - Robin Rees
As Timothy Keller says, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” The beauty of the gospel is that because of Jesus we are fully known and fully loved by our Father, God Himself. That extends through the community we have been given in the church. Robin will help us focus in on this key truth that will shape our time together throughout the weekend.
8-9am - Coffee (optional)
9-11:30am - The Battle for Faith in Failure (session 2) - Carolyn McCulley
This topic will take an honest look at how feelings of failure and rejection can paralyze us in being fruitful for the Kingdom. It can feel intensely personal to experience rejection but it is actually a cosmic battle. Those feelings of condemnation and humiliation have a spiritual source, one with an intent to steal our praise. In this message, Carolyn will equip us to be aware of what's behind our feelings, encourage us to be transparent in our struggles, help us understand why comparison pulls us into this trap, and even make us laugh at the awkwardness of trying to look more pulled together than we actually are.
11:30-2pm - Lunch & Free time (lunch provided; veggie & gluten free options available)
2-3pm - Breakout Sessions
3-5pm - Investing for Eternal Returns (session 3) - Carolyn McCulley
One reason for feeling inadequate is that we aren’t taking stock of all that we’ve been given to invest and then going for maximum Kingdom returns. In this message, Carolyn helps us apply the principle of being a good steward of all that we’ve been given—time, talent, treasure, relationships, opportunities, capacities, and more. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by everything that’s on your plate or underwhelmed by the life you lead now, this message will leave you encouraged with ideas for how to apply the concept of being a faithful steward of all of God’s gifts. Hint: Every woman’s investment strategy will be different.
5pm - "Official ending" - We hope you go out to dinner with some new friends!
